How It Started

Edmund’s Oast began with a love for craft, first as a brewery, then as a restaurant, and now as a place where those passions meet on every plate. Named after a historic English brewhouse and inspired by Southern traditions, we’ve always believed in doing things with intention. What started as a neighborhood gathering place has grown into a modern tavern — where local ingredients, layered flavors, and genuine hospitality come together without pretense.

We don’t chase trends. We trust our taste, honor our roots, and always leave room for something new.

What Guides Us

We believe great food is built on balance — between comfort and curiosity, familiarity and surprise, classic technique and fresh thinking. Our cooking draws from the American South and travels just far enough to bring new life to the table. A dash of something herbal here. A savory note that lingers a little longer there. It’s the kind of menu you can settle into, or explore.

And while we take our craft seriously, we never take ourselves too seriously. That’s the tavern spirit — warm, open, and always better with company.

At the Table

Dining at Edmund’s Oast is about more than what’s on the plate (though that matters a lot). It’s about feeling welcomed, whether you’re in the courtyard with a beer and a sandwich or seated in the dining room for a long, layered dinner.

Outside, the courtyard is open and casual — serving lunch, dinner, and drinks in a space designed for ease and good company. Covered or uncovered, with fire pits and relaxed seating, it’s Charleston at its most comfortable.

Inside, our dining room leans classic and polished — all wood, warmth, and the kind of lighting that makes conversations linger. Dinner-only, it’s where our kitchen takes its time, and so do our guests.
